"Humanity Over Vanity"
The Trendy K9 fully believes in practicing the concept of “humanity over vanity” - this means that we do not believe in performing services that will cause a pet physical OR mental harm.
We treat all pets with compassion and kindness.
We do no force pets to tolerate a service that causes them pain.
We do not force pets to tolerate a service that causes them fear.
Grooming, in general, tends to be stressful for most pets no matter what we do - so I strive to keep the overall stress levels in the salon LOW and will not push pets past their individual limits. This way, they can have as much of a POSITIVE experience as possible while in the salon with me.
My policies will reflect this practice. Some of these policies may include limiting the type and amount of de-matting I will do, limiting services for puppies and/or elderly pets, and more. For a full list of my policies, all of which are designed to keep pets and people safe, please click below.
Pricing Guide
The base price of any pet's service is just a guesstimate. I reserve the right to adjust the price of any individual dog at ANY TIME based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to:

- Style of service (the more complex, the more the cost)
- Condition of the pet's coat (or length of time since last service)
- Matting or Impacted undercoat
- Presence of any fleas or ticks
- Pet's behavior at any point in the service
- Any special needs of the pet

Note that because of this, individual dogs service prices may vary - just because one Poodle is $80 does not mean ALL will be. Prices will be customized to the pet. For the BEST deal on pricing, pets should be RE BOOKED or PRE BOOKED for every 4, 6, or 8 weeks.

Again - none of these base prices are guaranteed. I can give a more accurate estimate once I see your pup, and reserve the right to adjust prices during the service.

Creative Grooming
I am finally ready to offer creative services! These will be offered on a LIMITED basis to dogs who can/will TOLERATE the process.

Currently offering the following services:
Semi Permanent Dye - Ears, Tails, Poms, Legs
Carving/Shaping - small simple pieces
Before we get into pricing, I just have a couple of notes:
1) I will evaluate each pet upon check in to determine if creative requests may be accommodated based on the pet's health, coat, and temperament.

2) I will NOT do creative work on elderly pets, on puppies, or on pets with ANY health conditions. I will also not do dyes or chalks on pets with SKIN ISSUES or ALLERGIES.

3) I reserve the right to END any creative grooming session at ANY point if the pet no longer tolerates the attempt or if I believe the attempt will not have a good outcome.
4) I do NOT guarantee any creative services - creative works often don’t go 100% to plan or look exactly as envisioned. Dogs move when they shouldn’t, dyes don’t always set properly on certain coats, and yes - we humans can mess up.
5) I will always do my best to match the pet parent’s vision, but cannot guarantee the end result and am not responsible for the pet parent “not liking it" for any reason.

6) At this time, I ONLY USE Opawz products - I will NOT use any other dye or chalk, nor will I use any products supplied by the pet parent. I also currently do NOT offer "lightening" services that would allow me to dye dark coats.

Semi-Permanent Dyes

Candy Corn Tail
Semi- permanent dyes can be used to temporarily color a dog’s coat. Ears and tails are the most COMMONLY requested areas for dye work, but I can also dye leg/butt poms or carved shapes.
I do not, at this time, do full body dye.

Special Note: These dyes WILL LAST for a LONG TIME. The product claims it will last for 8-10 washes, which doesn't SOUND like a long time.... but if you’re only having your dog washed, say, once a month…. you’re looking at potentially 8-10 months of this color.
On my own dogs I usually end up cutting the color out before it actually fades out. It remains rich and vibrant for anywhere from 3-6 months. Halloween colors have lasted into the following summer! And that’s with monthly washing.

Coloring Shampoo
Coloring shampoo works like the semi-permanent dye. It temporarily colors the coat, and lasts about 6-8 washes. I can do ears, tails, legs, but not the whole dog.
It takes the same amount of time to apply and about the same amount of time to set as the dye - the BIGGEST difference is the color itself.
Color from the shampoos is typically more of a PASTEL - not rich or vibrant like the colors from the dye.
Side Note: I do not offer discounts or refunds for the color “lasting too long” - if you opt to have your pet colored with a semi-permanent color you do so knowing that this color may well last for 6-10 months.
Pricing for both dye and coloring shampoo will run at an hourly rate of $40/hour, and this will cover up to two colors. For three or more colors, add $10 per additional color.
OR, if colors need to be applied and set SEPARATELY (meaning I cannot apply both colors simultaneously so they both set for the same time) then each separately applied color will be charged for the time spent on that color.
Dyes and shampoos take roughly 10-15 minutes to apply depending on the number of colors, the pattern used, how much hair is being dyed, and the dog’s tolerance. They then take up to 30 minutes to “set” before the colors can be rinsed. Rinsing takes at least another 5-10 minutes.
So in total: 1-2 colors may take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.
So for one color, or two colors applied at the same time, you’re looking at around $30-$40. For three colors applied at the same time, you’re looking at $40+. For three colors, one which has to be applied on its own, you’re looking at around $60. And so on.

Hair Chalk

If you’re not ready for months of color, or just want color for a weekend events, then Hair Chalk is an alternative to dye! Hair chalk usually comes out in 1 or 2 washes, depending on the coat type.
Hair chalk does NOT have to “set” like dye, but does have to be brushed in to a clean coat. Most chalks can be applied in 30-45 minutes, depending on the colors used and amount of coat being chalked.
The ONLY downside to chalk, is that it MAY rub off when you are petting the dog and will likely run off if the dog gets wet. That means your hands, clothes, furniture, and carpet may get stained. I am NOT responsible for any messes or stains caused by hair chalk!
If you are doing chalk for an event, I strongly recommend you have it applied the same day as that event OR the day before, and avoid letting the dog get wet.

Carving/Shaping
Carving or shaping requires the right kind of coat which must be clean and brushed out.
Shaping refers to the art of making shapes out of the coat and carving is more cutting shapes into the coat. Shaping usually means the rest of the coat around the shape is short or shaved while the shape itself is fluffy. Carving usually means cutting a shape into the coat while the rest of the coat remains the same length as before.
I can do very basic shapes - hearts, circles, squares, triangles, and on the right dog might be able to do shamrocks, pumpkins, and more.

Just to keep it easy, the same pricing rates apply - $40/hour. Since chalking doesn't take AS long as dye, most chalking is going to take roughly 30 minutes, so it would start at $20 for a half hours work (which would cover ears or tail for example).

Shaping prices will run around $10 per shape. I can only do very basic shapes right now - circles, squares, triangle, hearts.
